Labour Mobility Applicants

Labour mobility applicants (lma)

 A Labour Mobility Applicant (LMA) is an individual who is currently registered with a body that regulates naturopathic medicine in a province or territory in Canada other than Alberta.

eligibilty

You are eligible to apply as an LMA if you are currently registered with one of the following Canadian regulatory authorities:

  • College of Naturopaths of Ontario

  • College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia

  • Government of the Northwest Territories Department of Health and Social Services

  • Manitoba Naturopathic Association

  • Saskatchewan Association of Naturopathic Practitioners

LMA Application Process

To apply for registration as an LMA you must submit a completed application form along with the required documentation.

Steps:

  1. Click here to create an Applicant account with the CNDA. Select “Please Sign Up” to begin the process.

  2. Open the General Register application form and under the Applicant Information section check off “yes” for the Labour Mobility Applicant Declaration. You must check this off to ensure you are filling out the correct application. Continue on to fill out the form in full. Refer to the CNDA Administrative Policy: Applications for additional information on the application form and application process.

  3. Submit required documentation pursuant to the following checklist. Additional details on the required items are outlined in the CNDA Administrative Policy: Applications as well as within the online application form:

    • Proof of identity and proof of Canadian citizenship or lawful admittance to work in Canada

    • Original current criminal record check from an authorized source. Applicants will be sent an online invitation to complete the criminal record check through MyBackCheck.

    • CPR certification

    • Three character reference letters

    • Professional liability insurance

    • Verification of Registration (Certificate of Standing) from the Canadian jurisdiction where you are currently registered

  4. Complete the CNDA Jurisprudence Exam. The exam is completed online as part of the application process. Please refer to Appendix A of the CNDA Administrative Policy: Applications for full details regarding this exam.

  5. Pay the Application Fee.

  6. On receipt of an LMA application for registration the CNDA will notify the Applicant within 10 business days that the application has been received.

  7. The CNDA will schedule the application for review and make a decision within 20 business days of receiving the complete application (all required documentation has arrived).

  8. Within 10 business days of making a decision the CNDA will notify the LMA applicant of the results, including any right to an internal review or appeal.

Documents not required

If you are eligible to apply as an LMA you are not required to provide the following documentation as part of the application process:

  1. CNME accredited naturopathic medical school transcripts.

  2. NPLEX transcripts or College of Naturopaths of Ontario Exam transcripts.

  3. Practical examination results.

  4. Proof of training for Restricted Activities Requiring Authorization. *The CNDA may require proof of training depending on the authorized scope of practice in the applicants current jurisdiction.
